Lamp Bulb Equivalent

Can you replace a 60W incandescent lightbulb with a CFL that is 75W equivalent?
Since the actual wattage used by the CFL equivalent of a 75 watt bulb is only 20W, is it safe, electrically, to put a 20W CFL (equals output of 75W incandescent) in a lamp that says its made for no more than a 60W bulb?
Yes. The fixture is rated at 60 watts due to the heat. Higher wattages will damage sockets and wiring. A cfl doesn’t produce as much heat as a standard bulb. 75 will be fine.
